Next week we are delighted to be hosting South West Chef of the Year Junior and Home Cook finals.
Staged by Michael Caines and Taste of the West, this prestigious event has been held since 2004 and has provided a career springboard for many in the industry.
Even those who do not get crowned winner of their category, still have the chance to showcase their talents in front of a panel of the regions top chefs. Our very own Chef Director Darrin Hosegrove will be among them.
Initially entrants were asked to submit a proposed two-course menu for three people (a starter and a main course) using principally seasonal produce from the South West of England and incorporating specific ingredients nominated by the judges.
The Student and Professional semi-finals are taking place today. We wish all those involved the very best of luck, and look forward to welcoming the panel and rival chefs next week.
News and photos sure to follow.
