South West’s Best Dish is the category open to any amateur cook (who has never worked in the industry) who enters a recipe for a main course dish using regionally sourced ingredients. The best dishes selected from all the entries will be invited to cook their dishes at the final for a panel of top judges at the Ashburton Cookery School on Saturday 4th October, 2014.
Judges include Michael Caines OBE, Chris & James Tanner, Peter Gorton and our own Darrin Hosegrove. They will select the South West’s Best Dish based on taste, presentation and best use of ingredients.
Last year’s winner Steve Ashworth explains, “It was fantastic to win last year, the whole experience has been great and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Preparing dishes for Michelin star chefs was amazing and not as daunting as I had thought – the chef judges are incredibly supportive and I would urge any enthusiastic home cook to enter and see where it takes them.”
